Computer Scientist, Meteorologist, Mathematician, or Physicist (f/m/d)

Job description

You will work on the development of an online data analysis and the (in-situ) visualization of earth system models in the context of the HGF project Exascale Earth System Modeling. Together with our partners within the Helmholtz Association a software framework will be developed that allows for an automated parallel in-situ post-processing of simulation data of earth system models. It should benefit from modern hardware and software techniques used in high performance computing.

Personal qualification

Besides strong interest in earth system modelling you have the following qualifications:
• University Degree (Master) in computer science, meteorology, mathematics, physics, or comparable degree (PhD preferred)
• Experience in the visualization and analysis of large-scale data
• Proven knowledge in programming languages and environments like C++, Fortran, Python, MatLab, MPI, and Linux
• Very good knowledge of written and spoken English


Salary category 13, depending on the fulfillment of professional and personal requirements.
