IMT 12-2024 Bachelor- / Master Thesis: Design and construction of a rotational stage for 3D-AFM

Organizational unit

Institute of Microstructure Technology (IMT)

Job description

Atomic force microscopy (AFM) makes it possible to image the topography of nano- and microstructures. However, undercuts and overhangs are often not detectable. The aim of this project is to design, build and test a rotation and tilt stage that enables measurement objects to be scanned from multiple angles and the measurement results to be compiled in analysis software. The stage can be manufactured from 3D printed parts, for example, as realized in https://doi.org/10.48550/arXiv.2401.11541.
