Job description

Your area of responsibility essentially comprises:

  • Development of specifications as well as elaboration and documentation of possible design variants for the accelerator-driven neutron source and its target station
  • Integration of the results from neutronics, mechanics, thermal analyses and fabrication engineering into the overall concept
  • Management of the requirements and interfaces of the subsystems
  • Contributions to the demonstration of the technical feasibility via a resource-based project plan and a cost estimate as basis for a project proposal for further funding
  • Identification of potential industrial and other partners for the main systems accelerator, target stations and test facilities
  • Technical work related to the design, analysis and fabrication of key systems.

Personal qualification

  • University degree in engineering specialising in mechanical engineering (Master) with completed doctorate
  • Several years of professional experience / excellent knowledge of thermal and mechanical analyses and evaluations as well as materials technology
  • Very good knowledge of CAD and CAE methods (CATIA, ANSYS)
  • High motivation, independent working style, strong communication skills and ability to work in a team
  • Very good written and oral skills in German and English
  • Knowledge of accelerator applications, neutron physics and radiation transport as well as project management and system engineering in international and multinational organisations.

Salary

Salary category 13, depending on the fulfillment of professional and personal requirements.
