Job description

The Scientific Computing Center (SCC) is the information technology center of KIT. The Scientific Data Management department at SCC is seeking additional staff to support the development of user-friendly file transfer tools between suitable endpoints such as the LSDF (Large Scale Data Facility) and the bwDataArchiv in a scientific environment.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Operation, maintenance, and further development of existing WebDAV, FTS, and LSDF web portal services
  • Extension of the WebDAV protocol to support third-party transfers using FTS and OIDC-based authentication. The extension will be provided as an Apache module for deployment within the LSDF
  • Further development of the LSDF checksumming service as well as the web portal
  • Integration of the services into the AAI infrastructures of KIT and the NFDI

Personal qualification

Job requirements:

  • Completed university degree (Master’s level), preferably in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics
  • Knowledge of the programming languages C and Python
  • Experience in the operation of IT services
  • Knowledge of configuration management systems such as Ansible and Puppet
  • Experience in the administration of Linux server systems
  • Solid, broad-based IT knowledge
  • Knowledge of English - fluent in spoken and written
