Physicist (f/m/d)
The Institute for Astroparticle Physics (IAP) at KIT invites applications for a postdoctoral position (f/m/d) in (Astro)Particle Physics. Our group has long-standing experience in rare-event searches and is a member of the XENON and XLZD collaborations searching for Dark Matter. The position is targeted to advance the state-of-art knowledge on liquid xenon time projection chambers with the goal to build the XLZD Observatory.

Job description
- operate a liquid xenon time projection chamber at KIT and collaborate on sensitivity studies to rare processes in the next generation detector XLZD
- operation of the gas system
- data acquisition of the detector
- optimizing the detector system and lead its construction and test measurements at KIT.

Personal qualification
- you are an enthusiastic experimentalist holding a master’s degree university or equivalent) in physics and have completed a doctorate in particle/astroparticle physics or a related field with relevant experience
- work experience with time projection chambers, acquisition and electronics of particle-physics experiments is highly welcome
- excellent knowledge in software development, modern programming languages (e.g. C/C++, Python) or numerical computation methods are advantageous
- you will work in an interdisciplinary team, and you enjoy the experience of experimental work
- participation in international collaborations requires excellent intercultural and organizational skills.
