Job description
You play a central role in the international team of the "Networked Multi-Energy Systems" research group and actively shape the energy transition.
Your main activities:
- Free and project-based research on physics-, data-, and learning-based methods for sector-coupled energy systems with partners from academia and practice (e.g., in the field of modeling of sector-coupled energy systems (electricity, gas, district heating), scalable control and stability analysis of energy systems using dissipativity theory, merging market mechanisms and technical operation into optimal, techno-economic operation strategies)
- Professional support for PhD students and joint publications in relevant, high-ranking journals
- Acquisition of research funds (publicly funded, industry, etc.)
- Participation in the research-oriented teaching of the institute
- Future possibility to take over the research group lead

Personal qualification
- Very good, completed Master's degree and a PhD in electrical engineering, mechatronics, mechanical engineering, power engineering or similar with a focus on automation technology, control engineering, optimization
- Several years of research experience
- Previous knowledge in the field of energy systems is advantageous, but not necessary
- Relevant, high-ranking publications in the areas of control and optimization of energy systems, dissipativity-based control methods, distributed optimization and/or data-/learning-based control
- Experience in teaching and the application, coordination, and implementation of projects
- Business fluent level (B2) in English
Salary
Salary category 13 TV-L, depending on the fulfillment of professional and personal requirements.
