Job description
As part of KIT's Future Field research, you will develop a spatially explicit model for analyzing sustainable land use for climate protection. The model includes technical and agricultural/infrastructural as well as ecological aspects and considers their interdisciplinary interactions. In addition, social criteria of land use are taken into account in the development of the model. The focus is on the implementation of innovations to increase land efficiency, such as Agri-Photovoltaics. Using the model, you will analyse how technological advances and future innovations can reduce land use conflicts and free up land for climate protection.

Personal qualification
You have a Master's Degree or PhD in environmental science or environmental engineering, geography or in a comparable field of study. You are experienced in GIS-based modelling techniques and programming (e.g. Python). You have active interest in land use analysis and climate change mitigation, excellent analytical skills and a strong motivation to work at the interface between humans and technology. Team orientation and strong communication skills in English (working language) are required.
Salary
Salary category 13, depending on the fulfillment of professional and personal requirements.
