We are seeking exceptional candidates with extraordinary knowledge in communications engineering for several open positions. Your tasks include the support of teaching activities of the CEL and carrying out independent research in the field of communications and 6G mobile networks. We have multiple topics in this context, for instance integration of communications and cyber-physical systems, radio network and communications system optimization using modern machine learning methods and neural networks, dynamic and self-optimizing radio networks, as well as multi-modal communications and information processing networks. The research topics also include the mathematical analysis of novel communication systems and the software implementation of simulation and evaluation programs. Besides this, you are responsible for the documentation and publication of selected research results in scientific journals and conferences. The job is associated with the goal of graduating with a Dr.-Ing. (PhD) Degree. At the CEL, you can expect a modern and international research environment with exciting topics circling around the future of telecommunications.

Persönliche Qualifikation
You are in possession of an outstanding master or PhD degree in electrical engineering and information technology, communications engineering, or a related degree. You have additionally profound knowledge in communication systems, in particular, radio networks, and possibly machine learning, are fluent in spoken and written English, and you are able to work independently and responsibly. You are also invited to submit your application if you have earned your master or PhD degree in a different area and would like to work “cross-domain.” Integration and application aspects of communication systems are considered an important research area. Ideally, you have experience in programming and interest to expand your expertise to new areas such as (but not limited to) information and communication theory, deep learning, communication protocols, real-time networking, semantic communications, or joint sensing and communications. You have confident manners and are professional in dealing with project partners and students. You are a team player and you are equipped with organizational talent.
Salary
Salary category TV-L EG 13, depending on the fulfillment of professional and personal requirements.
