Institute for Biological and Chemical Systems - Functional Molecular Systems (IBCS-FMS)
You will work on the development of approaches to solve scientific problems by quantum chemical calculations within the project Virtual Materials (VirtMat). Your tasks include the design of models for a stand-alone use and their integration into existing working environments as well as the execution of scientific calculations by model establishment in e.g. Turbomole. The documentation of your work as well as the provision of the project results as an Open Source complete the task profile.
In addition to your scientific tasks, you will also be responsible for teaching students and supporting projects in bachelor and master theses.

You have a university degree (Diplom (Uni)/Master) in theoretical chemistry or physics. Alternatively, engineering sciences or natural sciences with a focus on physical or chemical models are suitable. You have also knowledge in the field of quantum chemical models. Personally, you are characterised by a pronounced ability to work in a team and flexibility. English language skills are a prerequisite.
Salary category 13, depending on the fulfillment of professional and personal requirements.
