Job description

As part of the Collaborative Research Center (CRC) 1441 TrackAct (Tracking the Active Site in Heterogeneous Catalysis) you will investigate the adsorption of small molecules on Pt and Pd clusters in gas phase and on oxide surfaces with quantum chemical methods. You develop appropriate model systems and calculate structures, binding energies and spectroscopic properties (especially vibrational frequencies). You compare your results with experimental data and interpret them in close collaboration with other groups of the CRC.

In addition to the academic work, there is the possibility of a PhD.

Personal qualification

You have a university degree (Diplom (Uni) / Master) in chemistry or physics with a focus on computational physics and very good knowledge of chemistry. In addition, you have already gained experience in quantum chemical calculations (molecule or solid state) and have knowledge of theoretical chemistry. Programming experience and knowledge of Linux or Unix are desirable. A very good command of written and spoken English and the ability to work in a team round off your profile.


Salary category 13, depending on the fulfillment of professional and personal requirements.
