Postdoc (f/m/d) in Meteorology
The working group “Large-scale dynamics and predictability” of the Institute of Meteorology and Climate Research (IMK-TRO) is looking for an experienced researcher in the field of Atmospheric Dynamics in support of the group’s research activities and in the scientific coordination of the upcoming “North Atlantic Waveguide, Dry intrusion, and downstream Impact Campaign” (NAWDIC).
The group investigates atmospheric predictability from an atmospheric dynamics’ perspective with a focus on weather regimes in the Atlantic European region. The group also coordinates the initiative for the international “North Atlantic Waveguide, Dry intrusion, and downstream Impact Campaign” (NAWDIC) scheduled for early 2026. Hereby we are responsible for NAWDIC HALO, which aims to deploy the German research aircraft HALO for a six-week period in winter 2026 in the North Atlantic region and for NAWDIC KITcube with a planned supersite at the European Coast. More information on NAWDIC can be found on the wiki: https://internal.wavestoweather.de/campaign/projects/nawdic/wiki .
