Job description

You will work within the Collaborative Research Center (CRC) 1441 TrackAct (Tracking the Active Site in Heterogeneous Catalysis) in close collaboration with our partner institutes. You are responsible for spectroscopic (IR, XPS and NEXAFS) characterization of metal/oxide catalysts in the form of both well-defined model systems and nanostructured powders using the ultrahigh vacuum apparatus at IFG and the NEXAFS apparatus at BESSY II. You also contribute to writing of papers and to presentation of the results at international conferences and seminars. The position is only suitable as part-time position.

Personal qualification

You have completed a university degree (Diplom (Uni)/Master) in chemistry or physics with solid knowledge in the field of surface science and catalysis. Working experience with advanced surface analysis methods is an advantage. You should have good written and oral communication skills in English and the ability to work in a team.

Salary

Salary category 13, depending on the fulfillment of professional and personal requirements.
