Physicist, with a completed doctorate
Institute for Photon Science and Synchrotron Radiation (IPS)
As senior scientist (f / m / d) you will be responsible for the management of the construction of the HIKA experimental station and its integration into the general operation of beamline P23 in close cooperation with DESY.
Furthermore you are responsible for the coordination and implementation of the KIT research program HIKA in Hamburg. In this context, you will bear the budget and personnel responsibility, including investment and resource planning for the construction, operation and maintenance of the HIKA station at beamline P23.
In the framework of your research, you will advance the methodical and instrumental development of hierarchical 2D and 3D X-ray imaging using hard X-ray microscopic, tomographic, and laminographic methods, incorporating the use of absorption, phase-contrast, fluorescence-contrast and diffraction-contrast mechanisms and their systematic application to in situ, operando and in vivo investigations in the materials and life sciences.
Representation of HIKA within both the synchrotron research community and the wider public complete the job profile.
Associated with this position there exists the possibility for habilitation and participation in teaching at KIT in the form of block lectures.
The main place of work will be Hamburg.
