PhD position: design the architecture and construct on the 3D ultrasound computer tomography system and integrate a control and DAQ system
3D ultrasound tomography is an innovative method for breast cancer diagnosis developed at KIT. The advantages are the radiation-free measurement of three tissue properties for the diagnosis as well as their 3D representation. After first promising clinical studies, a large multi-center study in the People's Republic of China will now be carried out in cooperation with an industrial partner. For this purpose, within three years, several customized devices are built and the necessary firmware and control software are developed. At the same time CE marking, medical approval in China and industrial series production are being prepared.
You work on the 3D ultrasound computer tomography system and design the architecture, and construct and integrate a control and DAQ system. You develop and implement concepts for the automated control and robustness of system components, for user interfaces, for the control software as well as solutions for control tasks in real time and implement them. You will be responsible for the development, and implementation of suitable tests.
You have a university degree (Diplom (Uni) / Master) in the field of electrical engineering, computer science or a comparable qualification with experience in the field of hardware programming and in the programming languages C / C ++. Experiences in the field of control and DAQ systems, control engineering, parallel hardware systems and bus systems as well as in the field of μController programming and driver and kernel development are desirable. Very good knowledge of English is obligatory. Knowledge of German and / or Mandarin complete your profile.
