Postdoctoral researcher (f/m/d)
Investigation of post-Li batteries with chromatography techniques

Organizational unit

Institute for Applied Materials - Materials Science and Engineering (IAM-WK)

Job description

The overall goal of this project is the analysis of post-Li batteries with chromatography techniques. In detail, gaseous, liquid and, as far as possible, solid compounds and decomposition products shall be studied, clarified and quantified. For the analyses, following partly individually adapted instrument devices are available on site: GC-MS/FID, GC-MS/WLD/WLD, GC-FID/NPD and HPLC-MS/UV. In order to carry out the analyses reliably, you will collaborate on method development. You plan your tasks independently, include technical personnel in your workflow skilfully and summarize your results in writing in presentations and paper drafts. In addition, you will help with the maintenance of the facilities.

We offer you the opportunity to perform investigations on post-Li materials using sophisticated equipment, and to contribute and continuously develop your skills in this field. During this time, you will work in an interdisciplinary working group at IAM-WK and you will have access to the excellent research infrastructure and experimental facilities at KIT. The work is integrated as close collaboration with other institutes at KIT, namely IAM-ESS and IAM-AWP, as well as in the cluster of excellence POLiS, that involves close collaboration with other groups in the cluster. In particular, a very close cooperation with surface analytics (XPS) is planned.
