Field of study: inorganic chemistry or materials science
Organizational unit
Institut für Mikrostrukturtechnik (IMT)
Job description
At KIT, we are pursuing the development of luminescent core-shell nanocrystals for applications in photovoltaics, for example as spectral conversion layers. Within the scope of this project, you will have the following tasks:
- Synthesis of luminescent core-shell nanomaterials (oxides and fluorides)
- Optical characterisation of samples
- Publication of research results
- Establishing contact with interested cooperation partners from industry. This is within the framework of the Solar TAP project, a Helmholtz initiative to accelerate the use of novel printed layers for photovoltaic technologies.
Starting date
01.04.2026
Personal qualification
You have:
- A successfully completed doctorate in inorganic chemistry or materials science or a comparable qualification
- Extensive experience:
- in the synthesis of core-shell nanocrystals with fluoride and/or oxide materials,
- in material characterisation (XRD, ideally hands-on experience with TEM),
- in optical characterisation (stationary and time-resolved photoluminescence, PLQY measurements) - Very good written and spoken German and English skills
